Childrens Bikes

Children can start cycling from the age of 4 upwards. Any bike with a wheel diameter of less than 24" would be considered a Child's bike-BMXs excepted-and range from 12" to 20". Parents find it frustrating that their children can outgrow bikes so quickly and are tempted to buy an oversized bike. This is dangerous & unwise. It would make more sense to buy a fully serviced 2nd hand bike of the right dimensions. Make sure children's bikes are serviced regularly, especially brakes, as children are hard on bikes but may be nervous of owning-up to damage or wear which has arisen. Remember, new brake blocks are cheaper and more effective than new shoes.
